Make Your Wedding a True Legacy
Partner with the City of Joy Foundation & Create a Lasting Tribute to Help Educate a Child in the Name of Love!
Real Resorts is offering couples a true way to share their love by creating a legacy to support the Mano Amiga School for Children in Cancun. The school is part of the City of Joy Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps low income and struggling families and individuals in the Cancun area.
Real Resorts' Wedding Legacy Program offers couples and their guests the opportunity to turn their special occasion into a lasting legacy for a child. Partnering with the City of Joy Foundation (Fundacion Ciudad de la Alegria), Real Resorts invites couples to create a Legacy Gift Fund that will help educate a deserving child at the Mano Amiga School. The Mano Amiga School educates more than 1,300 students each year between kindergarten and 12th grade at the cost of only $25 USD per month.
There are several ways to create a lasting legacy to your love:
- Couples may elect to make a contribution on their own by telling their Wedding Planner or Travel Agent.
- Couples may ask wedding guests to contribute to their legacy fund in lieu of wedding gifts or in addition to gifts. Couples electing this option may register on RealResorts Wedding Registry and Real Resorts will keep track of the donations made payable directly to The City of Joy, Mano Amiga School.
Couples donating towards this cause will receive a commemorative plaque in their honor signed by student representatives and a letter twice a year from a sponsored student. If they choose, they can also arrange to visit the school, and will be commemorated at the school with an engraved 'blessing plaque' noting their wedding date and names. Guests contributing to the legacy will also receive a thank you note.

The City of Joy is a 12 acre compound located just outside the city of Cancun that provides education, healthcare, legal support and a wide range of other services for needy families in collaboration with a network of charitable organizations. It does this with the mission of keeping families together and providing resources to live a dignified life. Together, the organizations in the City of Joy help more than 20,000 people a year and the Foundation provides more than $450,000 USD per year to these non-profit organizations to sustain homes, pay utilities, and provide services. Thank you for considering support of the Mano Amiga School For the past several years Real Resorts has joined our colleagues in the travel industry in supporting The City of Joy's important work. It is truly a pleasure to now have the opportunity to create this legacy program for you, our many guests who celebrate weddings and other special occasions with us. I cannot think of a more worthwhile way to commemorate an event and make a difference in a child's life. The idea of a Legacy Wedding Gift Program was suggested to us by several of our guests who said they were not in need of traditional wedding gifts and wanted to do something to share their good fortune and provide a way for their guests to do something meaningful.
